The 3 Stages of qualification

There are 3 levels of instructor and two tests or assessments to pass to become fully qualified.

Down Trained

This is the first step for many instructors, there is no exam to pass for this level. You will be trained and assessed by a qualified instructor and then licensed to teach Compulsory Basic Training CBT only. Although there is no test, you are subject to internal supervision by the school that license's you along with ongoing assessments from the DSA.

Cardington Assessed

To reach this level you will have to pass a tough two-day assessment at the DSA training center. You are required to prove your abilities, character and skills as an instructor along with your ability to supervise and train other instructors. The DSA frequently modify the assessment to defend and improve the standard of instruction throughout the industry.

DAS Qualified

Becoming DAS qualified involves further assessment on your ability to instruct on large bikes. Once this assessment has been passed you are fully qualified and able to provide instruction to test standard
